Hello dear readers! I am still working on the Bs in the spring/summer part of my stash. I have a couple of polishes that fit into the sea/nautical theme. First up is China Glaze Below Deck, which is one of the twelve polishes in the Anchors Away collection from this spring, I did buy all of them - I always enjoy the themes that China Glaze has for their collections. Below Deck is one of those greyed-out purples that we have seen a lot of for the past two years. I still love this shade, and think this was an instant classic. I believe this is a bit darker and more purple than $OPI Metro Chic, but haven't done a direct comparison.
The top picture is in indoor light, and the bottom is in bright sunlight. I love this colour a lot. To me, this is a year-round lacquer because it is so chic. It may be on the list of my top 20 polishes. :)
Now on to the second sea-themed polish, RBL Bikini Bottom. I have a love/hate relationship with this polish. I love it on the bottle, and half the time when I am wearing it, I hate it on my nails. I love the idea of a soft aqua polish, but hate the sheer streakiness of this polish. This picture is four coats. I am a habitual two to three coat person, and four is verging on the unacceptable for me.
This picture highlights the ghostly quality of the polish. On me, it pulls a bit more green than blue because of the golden undertones to my skin. Aside: Remember warm-toned girls, we are golden not yellow! I do like the jelly finish, but find it streaky until I use four coats. I am not throwing this out just yet, because it goes with the other two Spongebob polishes I purchased. Of those, I think I love Starfish Patrick the most. I swear I will show it to you, eventually!
I will leave you with a picture of Elektra engaging in one of her favourite pasttimes, waiting for birds to come to the birdfeeder. She is so engrossed in this, she couldn't care less about me taking her picture!
Have a good night and hugs to you all!

Oh my gosh! The photos of Elektra looking intently at the birdfeeder is hilarious! I'm picturing the first photo on a postcard that says "Wish You Were Here!" :P Haha!
ReplyDeleteLove how there's more purple in China Glaze Below Deck. Think I'll get that when my financial situation looks better.
RBL Bikini Bottom looks very pretty, even if it is sheer. Have you tried a ridge-filled under or using white to layer with? Wonder if it'll help with the opaqueness. Four coats does seem like a hassle.

Hi Mary! Elektra does wish the birdies were here. :) Below Deck is gorgeous, and I think would look amazing on you. I haven't tried layering over white, but I do have a few white polishes that would work. I like trying polishes alone the first time to see how they work on me, but I do agree with you that it needs something underneath it. Thanks for the suggestion!
